AACT Jr. Performers Call Backs

 I want to thank everyone who auditioned. We had more kids audition this year than ever before!! EVERYONE who auditioned did a fabulous job!! When casting a show, the most important thing that we look for is who fits best in the roles. Please do not be discouraged if you did not get called back. Please keep doing theater!! Even famous actors do not get called back for every role they audition for. AACT will have theater classes with fun performance opportunities available starting in September. I hope to see you all in the future!!

Please be aware that there is a AACT “Summer Shorts” performance opens Thursday evening. When you come to the callback audition, please go into Studio I to sign in and wait. The auditions will be in Studio II. These are the two classrooms in the short hallway by the bathrooms. We need make every effort to be quiet and respectful for the patrons coming to the show. It is GREAT that we have so many things happening at the same time!!! Thank you for being flexible with us!

Thank you to all of you who auditioned! There are many exceptionally talented actors that did not get cast for this show. Please know that you are wonderful and talented. When casting a show the director chooses the actors that best fit the role within the artistic vision that they have for the show. Even the most accomplished actors do not get cast in every show that they audition for. Please know how much we admire you all and truly care about you all!!! PLEASE  keep pursuing your acting passion, just because you didn't get in this show, does NOT mean that you'll never be in one! Josh Hutcherson tried out for The Amazing Spiderman and didn't get in, but he's famous for something even cooler, The Hunger Games! 

Important reminder. The first rehearsal is  THIS Monday the 11th from 4:00-6:00. There is also a mandatory parent meeting that day at 5:15.

We were so very impressed with the breadth and depth of the talent that we saw.  Please do not be discouraged if you did not make the callback list. Please  stay involved with theater in every way that you can, take classes at school, or in the community. Please keep auditioning. You are all unique and wonderful and amazing. It is hard to express in writing truly how proud of all you we are, and how much we want to see you again!! We are striving to offer more classes and performance opportunities. EVERYONE has such incredible singing voices. If you are not all in some choir, or using that talent in some way you need to be!

Instructions For Callbacks:

Please Bring your signed copy of the "Responsibilities and Obligations" sheet with ALL of your conflicts listed. Theater is a team activity. It is very difficult to rehearse a scene if any of the actors are missing.


We will see actors for callbacks in groups.
Come dressed in neutral clothing that you can move in easily.
Actors will receive scenes from script, and music to perform.
We are looking for playfulness and high energy.
So arrive ready to have fun and play!!

I want to thank all of you that auditioned for this show! It takes A LOT of courage to even try. I was so very impressed with each and every one of you!! I encourage you all to keep doing theater! I knew this would be a smaller cast than last year, so I arranged to have the regular theater classes run, even when there is a play in production. If you did not get cast, please consider enrolling, so that you can have a theater experience, and strengthen the skills you already have. Please know how much I respect and love you all!!!

Callbacks  are Thursday, August 13 from 4:00-7:00

at the Jan Dempsey Art Center

WOW!!! What a talented group of kids we had the privilege of seeing the past two days! Here is the callback list. Please look carefully for your name, and to see what time you need to be there.  You only need to be there for your scheduled time. Please make sure that you arrive a few minutes early so that you are waiting and ready to go into the Performance Room when it is your turn to be there.

"Callbacks" are a chance for us to get a second look at you. We will be watching to see how well you can: speak loudly and clearly, follow directions, be able to focus for long periods of time, be creative with your voice, facial expressions and movements, and make bold character choices. We will not be able to cast everyone that have been invited to the callbacks. We know that it takes a lot of courage to EVEN  try to be in a play. If you are not cast, please don’t get discouraged. PLEASE find ways to continue with theater. AACT is offering theater classes this term, so everyone can have an opportunity to have a theater experience.

Please remember what we talked about during the auditions.When casting we needed to choose who we felt best "fit  the role",  it was not about who was most talented, because you are all talented! Each of you did a FABULOUS job!!!

There will be a Tech Crew meeting on Monday, January 5th  at 4:00. I will contact you if I need you there.
